We at Mannix recently enjoyed heading to our first ever fitness festival which incidentally happened to take place in our home city.
Heading down to our pitch on the morning of Brighton Fitness Festival, the (very hot) sun already beating down on us, we felt happy and optimistic about being offered a place at this exciting event.
Brighton Fitness Festival took place on Saturday 24th June on Hove Lawns in front of the famous, colourful beach huts and with the calm sea as a backdrop.
We were offered a place to exhibit at the festival alongside so many excellent health and fitness brands, both new and established. From favourites like Lululemon, Classpass and the popular Brighton-based Wolfox coffee to newer and local brands such as luxury gym Natural Fit and the innovative Zoop Scoop, Mannix was proud to showcase its products alongside these fantastic businesses.
What’s Brighton Fitness Festival?
This year marked the very first Brighton Fitness Festival, which describes itself as an independent day festival celebrating the fitness and movement community in Brighton and the surrounding areas.
From live talks, seminars and interviews to workout sessions you could get involved in and an exhibition of health and fitness businesses, it was an action-packed day for both brands and guests. Attendees could also enjoy refreshments from independent food and drink stands, take part in a spot of mini golf or challenge themselves to one of the many competition's brands were running.
The fitness festival also hosted the South Coast’s biggest fitness competition – Vault Games. People could come along to take part or just spectate - and it was conveniently right by the Mannix stand so we got to see it all.
You can find out more information about what went on via the Brighton Fitness Festival website and their Instagram page.
Why did Mannix Sports go?
We headed to Brighton Fitness Festival for a number of reasons! We were excited to get our products in front of possible customers and to spread the word about Mannix to as many people in the fitness world as possible.
We also wanted to meet and chat to other fitness brands. Whether the business is well established or early on in their growth journey like us, we really valued learning from other, like-minded businesses.
Perhaps most importantly, we were excited to chat with our potential customers face to face. And this was one of the best parts of the day. We got to meet so many people, from those interested in buying Mannix products to enjoy themselves, to those looking for presents for friends to businesses looking at the possibility of stocking Mannix at their gym.
How did it go?
Safe to say we were exhausted by the end of the day - but in a good way! The festival was on from 8am to 7pm and there was always something to do.
We got our stand set up, displaying a selection of Mannix products carefully on wooden stands, all on our handmade wooden display table. Anyone wandering around the festival could also identify Mannix from it’s canopy, complete with our name and logo.
We also shared 10% discount cards with our potential customers when they stopped by and encouraged people to enter our competition to win a £50 voucher for Mannix.
As a team, we then set about speaking to customers, answering questions and chatting about Mannix!
Like we mentioned, we also enjoyed getting to know our fellow fitness brands. Shout out to The Endurance Project, Barre Set and Zoop Scoop - all of whom we were exhibiting next to at various points of the day.
And we took it in turns to spend time walking around the fitness festival and getting to know guests and other brand owners - shout out in particular to Natural Fit, who we had lots of chats with.
As the heat of the day slowly started to ebb (it got up to 30C that day) we couldn’t help but feel proud of what we had achieved. Mannix was a mere idea 18 months ago - and now we were attending a fitness festival with a range of our handmade products to show the world. Some amazing opportunities have come out of Brighton Fitness Festival for us and we can’t wait to meet more like-minded people at future fitness events.
